Through continuous prayer and intercession, I have witnessed God working in ways beyond our comprehension. “His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts“.
Prayer has always been a go-to for me in times of need and worry. Although a lot of us tend to use it as a contingency plan it should be our first and foremost for everything, every day. It is the lifeline to our maker the king of all kings and we should be in constant commune with him to keep his presence near.
For many dads, prayer is a great source of power and a therapeutic avenue for conversation with the higher power in control, who knows and sees and understands all.
Prayer for a Sick Father
When a dad gets ill, it affects the entire family. The one who loves and looks up to him may start feeling worried and helpless. It is our nature to pray for healing and speedy recovery and to bring comfort to all who are affected.
Heavenly Father,
We humbly bow before your throne of grace today with heavy hearts asking you for healing for our dad. He is in ever need of your healing touch today. You are the Great Physician, and we believe in your power to heal and restore.
Lord, we ask you to ease his afflictions and ease his pain in this very difficult time. Grant him the strength to push through his pain just as Job did in his time of testing. Surround him with your peace and let it be all he needs to comfort him.
Please guide the hands of the doctors and nurses, and provide them with wisdom and discernment in their treatment of our dad, Dear God. Help the families to keep that steady unconditional faith, like you said in the good book, THE LORD SUSTAINS THEM ON THEIR SICKBED AND RESTORES THEM FROM THEIR BED OF ILLNESS. Psalms 41:3
Today we place our Father before your throne of grace knowing that you are the refuge and strength, our present help in trouble. Let your will be done in his life and allow your healing power to flow through him, Amen.
One of the more difficult petitions we ask of God Is to let His will be done. This goes against our very human nature, wanting everything in our own time compared to receiving it in the divine time.

We make mistakes and come short before his eyes. Sometimes those slipups land us into deeper unexpected trouble. There was a time when I was in the same situation, and even now there are repercussions still lingering from my actions. We will consecrate this prayer to those who are experiencing a father behind bars.
Dear God,
We bring before you all the fathers who are incarcerated. Lord, you are the God of mercy and redemption and we come before you on their behalf. Surround them with your grace as they are confined in their cells.
Give them the strength and courage and they walk through their daily lives. Allow them to find their purpose and walk in your light, despite of the circumstances. May they see your forgiveness and tread the waters to be better, amending the mistakes of the past.
We pray for the children, all the little ones who are affected by the absence of the dad in their daily rituals. Provide a source of comfort in this trying time and help them to keep that same strong bond despite the distance. May the fathers find a way to be a positive influence in the lives of their little ones.
We pray for the ones who run the prison systems directly and indirectly. Let them treat the fathers with respect and they deserve it while providing space and time for rehabilitation and growth. Amen
Prayer for Dads Who Passed Away
Losing a dad is the most difficult experience one can deal with. When we can’t put into words the hurt we are feeling, prayer will be there to offer strength and comfort.
The Great Healer,
We come before you with gratitude and sorrow, remembering the fathers who have been taken from us. We are grateful for the time we had with them, the memories we shared and the teachings they left with us.
For those of us who are left behind, please provide solace and comfort in their absence. Let your holy spirit fill the void that is left and replace it with your peace and healing.
As we go on life’s journey with only with the memories that’s left, may their life and the teaching they imparted be of growth and positivity moving forward. May we remember your words “YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE US NOR FORSAKE US”, Amen

Prayer for Fathers in the Military
Fathers in the military serve as a choice instead of being at home with their children. Some might find it hard to understand why they do it and that misunderstanding can be of contention.
The decisions we make affect the lives of the spouses and the children involved. We are praying specifically for the brave men risking their lives for the greater good and asking for comfort for the family and protection for him.
Almighty God,
We lift up before you all the fathers who are in the military. We ask for your divine protection as they put themselves in harm’s way as they do their duties. Keep your protective shield around them day and night.
You know Heavenly Father the uncertainties that they face and when they face them, protect them, Father. May their faith in you grow stronger every day knowing that they are in the shadow of the Almighty.
We also bring before you their families who are left behind stressing over the separation and worry. Let their service be a reflection of your service to and for us in your name, we pray, Amen

Prayers for a Struggling Father
Fatherhood is the best experience but it does come with its hiccups. There is no shortage of stress and painfully uncertain times. We go through family issues, jobs, bills or sometimes feeling inadequate.
In times like these seeking divine guidance can be your only source of comfort. When you leave your burdens at his feet he will carry them the rest of the way. Letting go of your worries is not easy, but it is also not impossible.
Lord,
Our Father who art in Heaven hallowed be thine name, with humbled hearts we are here before your presence bringing all the fathers worldwide who are struggling. Whatever they are struggling with today we ask you to intervene in a way you see fit. It may be a personal problem, family finances, work or health we know you know how and when to intervene and comfort dear God.
Please grant the tenacity and the audacity to be able to weather this storm, because we know it’s only for a season. May your presence be felt every step of the way with assurance knowing you are always here.
Today we ask for the wisdom to make the right decisions and make the path clear, illuminating it with your glory. Allow your peace to flow through them like a calm stream without any disturbance even though the world around them feels like it’s falling apart.
We also bring the families who are involved, we pray for their peace and strength. In times like this, unity and prayer bring a family closer together. May they put you first in everything and everything will fall into place. Amen.
